The invite said Black Tie. I knew to get out the drawing paper and the sewing machine. I wanted a classic long evening dress befitting the occasion and I challenged myself to use only what I already had in the house. I already had some stretch satin from @vegatextiles. I was honoured to attend my friend’s event in my me made dress. These are my pattern cutting hunnies that help me when I want to bring an idea to life! I like commercial sewing patterns but it’s so cool when you imagine something and make it happen! Ideas come from anywhere- the street, old movies, the runway, Instagram and even dreams. Some ideas are more challenging than others, I am always learning. The best thing is I am free from retail sizing. I cut to fit my figure- that way it always comes in my size! 😜 Now I’m off to practice something new!😀 Like I said, always learning….
